The Opposite of Stuffing

Nathanael asked me to perform a small surgical procedure on one of his stuffed animals, Shiny, whose fur had torn. 

As I got out the thread, Nathanael told me, “Shiny is scared.” 

These children of ours are so aware of feelings - their own and others. 

They do not stuff them down deep like I did for so long. 

They recognize them, feel them, embrace them, and teach me so much along the way!!
