My resume would tell you…

…about how I’ve worked in education for over twenty years as a teacher, a mentor, a leader.  About how I work to lead with love, focus on connection, model gratitude, am passionate about culture and emotional wellbeing, and look for ways to intentionally bring joy to our work.

My social media would tell you…

…about my three amazing kids and lessons I am learning.  About a few of my side hustles, including a weekend bakery with my BFF and a 3-year-long renovation project to turn a fishing cabin into a beachy airbnb getaway.  About how I love making car karaoke parody videos and am learning to play the ukulele.

But let’s go a little deeper, shall we?

Having experienced trauma and working through anxiety, depression, panic attacks, perfectionism, control, and people pleasing, I know what it’s like living life for other people.  I know what it’s like to be braced for anything and everything.   I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and “on the brink” all. the. time.

After hard and intentional work on personal growth, support from incredible healing professionals, large doses of Brene Brown, Glennon Doyle, Emily Nagoski, and Bessek Van Der Kolk, I’m finding inner peace and calm and joy and freedom.

There is hope.  I promise.

Part of the process includes telling our stories, connecting with others, and knowing we are not alone.

And I am here for all of it.

I’m inspired by people who are courageous and brave as they stay open, stay vulnerable, stay true to themselves.  By people who are rolling up their sleeves, looking inward, and doing the hard work of healing and loving themselves.  By people who share their stories.  By my family and friends, my students, my school team.  By large bodies of freshwater.  By words.  By pink Jeeps and gerbera daisies.
