Gratitude - Pandemic Edition

Knowing gratitude is the antidote to fear, I have been intentional about focusing on gratitude and finding joy during the pandemic.  I’ll save some of the details for a future post, but wanted to tell you what is high on my gratitude/joy list right now and I want to hear what’s on yours! 

Here they are in no particular order:

  • Messy buns on the top of my head.  It’s the first time in 18 years I can wear it like this.  I now care exactly 0% what anyone thinks of my hair because I. LOVE. IT!

  • Driving with all the windows down, BLASTING Hamilton, singing at the top of my lungs, pretending I’m Lin Manuel-Miranda mixed with J-Lo

  • Huge hoop earrings

  • Incredible friends who know exactly when to be quiet, when to help me see another perspective, and how to validate

  • Cuss words

  • Screen doors without holes to leave the doors open at night

  • “Finding” myself

  • Dresses

  • Masks that match my dresses

  • Blue light blocking glasses that match my dresses and masks

  • Audio books

  • Freedom!

  • Cricut machines

  • Feeling all. the. feelings.

  • My kids who feel all their feelings and talk about them

  • Decaf iced tea

  • My kids who put me in check when I need it

  • Watching eagles

  • Sushi - not the raw, gross kind

  • A partner who is patient and open and growing with me

  • Thinking for myself

  • Being present

  • Kind, encouraging messages

  • Laughing and feeling chill sometimes

  • Spontaneity sometimes - What the what???

  • Open-mindedness

  • Faux leather

  • Sunsets (still working on seeing more sunrises )

  • John Bradshaw and Brené Brown

  • Hammocks and cantilever patio umbrellas

  • Being creative
