Getting Ready to Share
January 30, 2023
I made myself a commitment to be intentionally vulnerable and share my stories for the purpose of connecting with others.
I’ve been doing this in lots of different ways. Personal conversations. Writing. And now FB lives.
I’ve shared a lot about personal work I have done, relationship work I have done, parenting work I have done. And there are some things I haven’t shared.
8 Questions to Ask Your Teen
January 15, 2023
It doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes we intentionally make the space for it. And sometimes it just happens naturally, like tonight.

January 3, 2023
HG telling me about her day.
“Me and my friends got split up today in class because we were being ”disruptive.” But it was while the teacher was intermissioning so I don’t get it.”
Me: What was happening during this intermissioning? HG: The teacher was changing the slide.
One Hour to Write
January 3, 2023

But I haven’t had a moment to catch my breath and write.
Enter an open hour between meetings. I searched the closest GF eatery to my current location and ended up at this fancy joint.

I wore one of my “Mrs. Claus” outfits last week that brought on a lot of conversation.
It started with my curiosity about her first name. After checking Google and Snopes.com, we learned there is not agreement about what her name is.
Gender Assumptions
December 20, 2022
I’m sitting in a new-to-me restaurant that serves both Olaf characters and people dressed in costume. And I’m doing some reflecting.
Here is what I am actively working to get better at right now.
I’m working to stop making gender assumptions.

A Reminder: Get Outside
November 26, 2022
Hey NY friends, I don’t know what you are doing right now, but go outside! Crack a window. Soak it in. Let the sun hit your face. Breathe deeply. It’s beautiful out there!!
