Refresh and Restore - Even on a School Night

October 19, 2021

Yes, I know it’s a school night.  Yes, I know it’s October 19th.  Yes, I know there are a million other things I “should” be doing right now.

But when it’s 64 degrees in October and you can stand alone on a beach with your body between the sun lowering and the moon rising and breathe deeply and listen to the waves crashing, you do it.

My district has been focusing on the concept of “Refresh and Restore.”  It’s important.  It takes intentionality.  And spontaneity.  It can be hard.  But it makes a difference when you put yourself on your own list.

All the sayings are true.  You can’t pour from an empty cup.  You have to put your oxygen mask on first.  In order to be your best for others, you have to be good to and for yourself.

We’ve done this before but it’s been awhile.  What are you doing to take care of precious you?  If this is new or really hard for you, take a look in the comments and one may seem like just the thing for you.
