A New Path

October 23, 2023

I’ve taken a path into work each morning for the past two years. It is pretty and direct.

Last week, something in me told me to go a different way.

It’s not a route my navigation app recommends, but I’ve been paying attention to this. Listening to my inner guide more.

So I changed course.

This new path takes the same amount of time. It has more turns. I can handle more turns.

Because this path takes me past two of my favorite, breathtaking drumlins. Past the home of a retired art teacher who puts up the most dazzling, eccentric seasonal displays in her yard and along her fence. Past residential areas with children waiting for buses and people going for runs and getting their mail and rolling out refuse bins. And they often smile and wave to me, to passerby’s.

The drive is full and captivating and joyful and I am here for it!

What new paths have you discovered? What new paths can you try?
