A Comedy First

It was another night embracing spontaneity!

The truth is I have never been a big fan of comedy. I find a lot of it rooted in shame and cruelty.

But last week, I discovered a comedian I really enjoy! As I was doing my “research” about her, I learned she is on tour. And she is in Buffalo this week. And tickets for all the shows were sold out.

I happened to check on tickets again at 5:00 tonight. And the “Sold Out” sign was gone over the 7:00 show. I had some moments of hesitation.

I’ve never attended a comedy show before.

I’ve never been to a comedy club before.

But I’m trying to embrace opportunities as they present themselves.

So I purchased a ticket for one and did the dang thing!

With 10 minutes to spare, I got to Buffalo, learned from the box office that I got the last ticket, was seated with the awesome Brittney who is also from Rochester and was attending for the first time, and had a blast!!

It sure is good to laugh!
